UAT understands that the persistence, practices, concentration and performance that make us the leading provider of audio visual solutions are equally important to athletes who has the determination to win, stay in the game or keep fit. At UAT, we show our respect for the sportsmanship by sponsoring various sports events, from basketball, korfball to table tennis. UAT is proud to help individuals reach out and participate at local and international levels.

Basketball

The Hong Kong Basketball League Division A1 is the highest division of basketball league in Hong Kong. It draws the top 96 talented athletes from Hong Kong forming altogether 8 teams from Hong Kong. The year 2007 marks the 24th anniversary of the tournament. UAT has expanded our basketball portfolio to sponsor the Pacific Long Distance Telephone (太平洋長途電話) team to compete in the most exciting and highest level tournament. UAT is proud to cheer up with the team to achieve the uncover their potential to finish 6th in the tournament. The year before, we achieved 5th.  UAT salutes the determination and skill of our athletes. They share the same qualities of UAT - determination and improvement.

The Leisure and Cultural Cup, co-organized by the Hong Kong Basketball Association and Leisure and Cultural Services Department, is a traditional basketball tournament during the summer holiday. Over 100 teams compete in 10 different divisions. This tournament is the youngsters' favorite as the matches allow them to show off their skill and provide a place for healthy social gatherings during their leisure time. UAT actively sponsors both men’s and women’s teams to compete in this energetic tournament for years and have won Champions three times and a 1st runner-up.

Korfball

Korfball is the world's only true mixed team sport with the rules laid down so that both men and women have equal opportunities. In all instances, from korfball's foremost international athletes, to children in the playground, this is an activity where both sexes play together on completely even terms. In play, korfballers only directly oppose members of their own sex, therefore the game is structured to dilute advantages of height, speed or strength that would otherwise make mixed team sport impossible to achieve with any degree of equality. As a mixed team sport, korfball creates a unique social environment. Like many sports, korfball provides participants and spectators a full range of intense emotion. Doing so with and against team-mates and opponents of both sexes adds an extra dimension that no other sport can offer.

UAT is glad to contribute to the development of korfball by sponsoring the Hong Kong China Korfball Association (HKCKA). The Hong Kong korfball team participated in the Third Asian Oceanian Youth Korfball Championships 2007, which were held on 3rd - 8th July in Christchurch, New Zealand. which is a qualification event for the World Youth Championship in 2008, and our Hong Kong korfball team won the Bronze medal. We hope that this event will attract many new participants to this sport.
