Memorable day marks a decade's success of UAT

26 July 2007

The 10th anniversary of the establishment of Ultra Active Technology Limited was celebrated at the landmark hotel situated in International Finance Centre (IFC) in Central, Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong today at a cocktail reception for more than 250 guests, including business, government and community leaders, and academics.

The General Manager, Mr Tony Cheung, said the anniversary was a significant milestone in the continuing UAT's success. He especially thanked and acknowledged the business partner, Polycom, for their long and continued support.

Cheung says: "There have been many obstacles in the last ten years to achieving high quality service for video-conferencing because of the relatively high cost and the slower connectivity speeds that were available. Now, however, the highest grade products are available to everyone, even SME's who are often under the misconception that the products are too expensive or that the necessary bandwidth is prohibitively expensive."

"With the advent of High Definition Television," Cheung says: "telepresence is now a reality." Telepresence is the technology that requires the senses of the user, or users be provided with such stimuli as to give the feeling of being in the same boardroom.

"As we celebrate our 10th Anniversary, we are continuing to make our mark as the pioneer in boardroom solutions provider, where premium quality abound.  The first 10 years have given us the strength and stability to face the next 10 years and beyond with even more credibility and the determination to continue making UAT the success story it has been."

At the toasting, business partners from Polycom Singapore and the UAT colleagues at Wanchai headquarter joint to preside a multi-location toasting via the Polycom high-definition video conferencing, which projected on a seamless widescreen (8' x 27') projection system, broadcasting to all guests.

During the celebration ceremony, the prestigious Chinese performer entertained the guests with the Chinese traditional art - faces changing and the UAT logo was shown at last to mark the 10th Anniversary. Thanks to the talent composer, Mr. Kelvin Ng, who specially composed the UAT theme song, and rendered the song by piano that brought the whole celebration into its climax.
