Unified Communications Conference 2008

The IDC’s Asia/Pacific Unified Communications Conference 2008 was successfully held.  The event was sponsored by Polycom and Cisco. Edward Hopgood, Global Enterprise Account Manager for Polycom has addressed that “Unified Communications has brought the human factor to the fore of technology, prioritizing the user experience and effective person-to-person collaboration.” The integration of disparate applications and communications devices is making it easier for users to connect with each other and access information more efficiently, providing them with the tools to make better decisions and achieve greater productivity.  Edward has also spoken the future of Unified Communications in the enterprise, and beyond. Other speakers like Ms. Shalini Verma, Research Manager, Asia/Pacific Communications Research, IDC Asia/Pacific and Mr. Benny Lee, Managing Director, Cisco Asia Pacific have also shared their views and experiences on Unified Communications.

Before end of the seminar, there was a panel discussion on “Best Practices for Transitioning to Unified Communications” which moderated by Dave Marks, Consulting Director, Asia/Pacific Consulting Research, IDC Asia/Pacific. Audiences were provided opportunities to interact with the speakers and lots of questions being raised.
