Extron MAV AV RCA Series
The Extron MAV 44 AV RCA, MAV 48 AV RCA, MAV 84 AV RCA, and MAV 88 AV RCA matrix switchers are designed to route composite video and stereo audio (unbalanced) signals. Audio is provided on RCA connectors. They are available in compact 4x4, 4x8, 8x4, and 8x8 models, ideal for a wide range of matrix switching applications. Corporate boardrooms, command and control centers, museums, university classrooms, sports bars, videoconferencing rooms, and home theaters are all environments where a MAV matrix switcher is effective.
Features
Inputs: Video on female BNC connectors; audio on RCA terminals
Outputs: Video on female BNC connectors; audio on RCA terminals
150 MHz (-3 dB) video bandwidth, fully loaded — Ensures switching and distribution of signals without signal degradation. The 150 MHz (-3dB) is a worst case specification, i.e., the MAV matrix switcher provides 150 MHz (-3dB) at full performance capacity when one input signal drives all outputs.
Vertical interval switching
Enables smooth, seamless transitions when switching between synchronous video sources.
Compatible with NTSC 3.58, NTSC 4.42, PAL, and SECAM video (quad standard) — Provides for worldwide compatibility.
Switches unbalanced stereo audio
Accepts unbalanced stereo audio signals on RCA connectors.
Audio input gain and attenuation
Balances all audio inputs so there is no noticeable difference between volume levels. Adjustments can be made directly from the front panel or through RS-232 control, input by input.
Audio breakaway
Provides the capability to break away an audio signal from its corresponding video signal. Switching can be done via the front panel or RS-232 remote.
QuickSwitch Front Panel Controller (QSFPC™) — The QuickSwitch FPC feature allows for touch-of-a-button input and output selection. Extron QuickSwitch technology eliminates the learning curve usually associated with switching the inputs and outputs of a matrix switcher by using a tactile front panel button for every input and output.
View I/O mode
Available via the front panel and RS-232 control, users can easily view which individual inputs and outputs are actively connected.
Global presets
These store commonly used switching configurations. Any preset may be recalled from the front panel or RS-232 control. When a preset is recalled, all the new I/O connections occur simultaneously. This is also called a salvo.
RS-232 control
Enables firmware updates and serial control via a third-party control system using Extron's Simple Instruction Set (SIS™), a set of basic ASCII code commands that allow for quick and easy programming.
Optional IR 501 remote control
Control software
For RS-232 remote control from a PC, Extron ships our Windows®-based with every matrix switcher. This icon-driven software uses a graphical, drag-and-drop interface to make I/O configuration and other customization functions simple and convenient. This software also offers an emulation mode for configuration of an offsite matrix switcher; the I/O configuration may then be saved for future downloading to the matrix switcher.
Optional control panels and keypads
Provide the flexibility to control a MAV Series matrix switcher from a remote location.
Front panel security lockout
If a MAV matrix switcher is installed in an unsecured environment where easy access is undesirable, a security lock-out feature may be implemented. During lock-out mode, a special button combination is required to operate the front panel controller.
